Dr. Olivia Kasirye, M.D. has been Sacramento County’s Public Health Officer since 2012. She also was recently appointed as Elk Grove’s Public Health Officer. Kasirye has over 25 years of experience including her work as the Medical Director of the Sacramento County Child Health and Disability Prevention program and the Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health program and as the Communicable Disease Controller. She received a Medical Degree from the Makerere University Medical School in Kampala, Uganda, and has a Master of Science degree in Epidemiology from the University of California, Davis. She is Board Certified in Public Health and General Preventative Medicine and served as El Dorado County’s Department of Health and Human Services as the Public Health Officer from 2009 – 2012.
