Ramona Thomas, an award-winning author and recipient of The International Impact Award, is a professor of Early Childhood Development in Sacramento, California. Ramona is an educator and mentor with over 30 years’ experience in the field. Ramona is passionate about empowering children and the communities that nurture them. As a dedicated researcher, educator and mother, Ramona is constantly exploring innovative tools and resources to support the growth of young minds. She finds great joy in working with children, families and teachers to make early learning educational environments exciting, nurturing and successful. She brings this same love of education to her writing endeavors.
Ramona will enlighten us on her journey to becoming an award-winning child book author, discuss the importance of literacy for our youth, especially young girls, and share excerpts from one of her books, on the adventures of Jetta, a little girl who explores and learns the meaning of new words.
